Pilgrimage to St Fillan’s Cave – last chance to sign up
On Saturday 31st May we are going on pilgrimage to St Fillan’s Cave, Pittenweem. It will include Mass and a wee trip round the sights, and we are being hosted by the local Episcopal Church for lunch. Please sign up Today.
This is part of our celebrations for the Year of Hope.
Conversations in the Spirit
Bishop Andrew is asking parishes to meet during Eastertide to discern a way forward for the Diocese. By Pentecost, he hopes to have the fruits of these discussions so that he might move forward with people and clergy.
With that in mind, Canon Tom proposes the following:
On Mondays after Mass (7.30 pm) on May 12th, 19th, and 26th May, parishioners are invited to meet in St Fillan’s to have a conversation in the Spirit focused on the needs of the Diocese. These sessions will last half an hour, so be over by 8 pm.
If you wish to take part but can’t manage Monday evenings, Canon Tom would meet after Sunday 11 am Mass on one of the Sundays for a ‘one-off’ session.
For those interested in exploring faith
The parish would be delighted to accompany anyone who feels called to become a full member of the Church, to come back to a more regular practice of their faith, or simply to reflect more deeply on their own faith journey wherever that takes them. Canon Tom is happy to form a group according to what is needed. Please contact him for a
conversation.
From our Parliamentary Officer – please avail yourselves of the facts.
On 13 May, the Scottish Parliament will hold its Stage One vote on Liam McArthur’s assisted suicide Bill.I wanted to share with you this email tool: righttolife.org.uk/scotlandvote - it's a Right To Life UK tool that makes it easy for constituents to email their MSPs to ask them to vote against Liam McArthur's assisted suicide Bill at the Stage One vote in less than 2 weeks. It only takes 30 seconds for users to contact their MSPs with a couple of clicks.
Around the Diocese
A new youth initiative, called the Dunkeld Youth Association, is being launched in St Andrew’s Cathedral, Dundee during the 6 pm Mass on Sunday 25th May. It is open to the 18–30-year-old age group.
Around the Churches
Congratulations to Comrie and Dundurn Parish Churches on their union this Tuesday 6th May. We are very much keeping them in our prayers.
Please pray for the repose of the souls of Pope Francis, Maria Walkowska, Canon Michael Milton, Derek and John Glenister.
And to our visitors, it’s great to see you. Please come back!
