Sacrament of Confirmation

Bishop Stephen came to St Fillan’s, Crieff, on Wednesday 21st November, to confer the Sacrament of Confirmation on 25 boys and girls from St Dominic’s Primary School and Morrison’s Academy. He was assisted by Canon Tom Shields and Deacon Harry Schnitker.

The Mass which also marked the 100th anniversary of the signing of the 1918 Education Act (Scotland) which had seen the transfer of the school, which the parish had been built and run by the church for almost 30 years, to become a state school. Headteacher, Mrs Elizabeth Hunter, thanked her staff and all who had helped prepare the children for the Sacrament.
